The Alpine Club of Canada Whistler section has a Board of Directors, which meet once a month. Issues discussed and raised at those meetings are then presented at a general regular members’ meeting, where anyone who is a member of the section can attend.
Typically members’ meetings are held once a month, beginning in September, on the fourth Thursday of each month. The November meeting is usually quite populated since the burning question on everyone’s mind is the winter trip schedule.
Our next monthly general meeting is on Tuesday, December 15th, 2015 from 6:00–7:15 p.m. Please bring a food donation for the local foodbank.
The agenda for the meetings vary, but they typically consist of a discussion around the upcoming trips, training sessions, and practices. There is usually a slide show presentation, sometimes of the Wendy Thompson Hut, other times of recent trips the section has done together, or one that a member has done independently.
The meetings are a great place for you to come and meet many of the Directors, as well as other members of the section. They are casual and open to any who are interested in who we are and what we do. RSVP is not necessary unless otherwise stated.
Meetings are posted on the calendar and on our Facebook page.
One exception to regular monthly meetings and BOD meetings is the AGM or Annual General Meeting. This typically occurs in January or February of each year.
